A good set of 6 closely-matched mid-to-late 19th Century Spindleback Dining Chairs in Ash, Elm and Beech with the “Sunburst” carving to the centre of the top rails indicating the chairs originated from the Lancashire area; four have turned front legs and attractively-turned front stretchers while two have square front legs and plain front stretchers; restored to sound useable order and with a good colour and patina.

Being one bold armchair with pierced cresting rail, central splat and front stretcher, and seven single chairs all with moulded panel backs, well turned uprights and excellent detail to the front rails. These chairs are in substantially original order with a good rake to the backs, lovely period colour and patina. The most interesting collection of 17th Century oak chairs we have seen for a long time.
